Firefighters brought a fire under control at an Apex shoe showroom in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi-27 area on Thursday (September 10) after nearly two hours of efforts. The fire broke out around 10am on the third floor of the six-storey building, prompting multiple Fire Service units to rush to the scene. Four units from Mohammadpur Fire Station worked to contain the blaze, said Talha Bin Jasim, an official of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters media cell. No casualties were reported, he said. The cause of the fire was not immediately known, while the extent of damage was yet to be assessed.

রাজধানীর ধানমন্ডি ২৭ নম্বরের এপেক্স শোরুমে লাগা আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে এনেছে ফায়ার সার্ভিস। বৃহস্পতিবার সকাল ১০টার দিকে ছয়তলা ভবনের তৃতীয় তলায় থাকা জুতার শোরুমটিতে আগুন লাগে। খবর পেয়ে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের একাধিক ইউনিট ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে কাজ শুরু করে। ফায়ার সার্ভিসের মিডিয়া সেলের কর্মকর্তা তালহা বিন জসিম বলেন, মোহাম্মদপুর ফায়ার স্টেশনের চারটি ইউনিট প্রায় দুই ঘণ্টার চেষ্টায় এপেক্সের শোরুমের আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনতে সক্ষম হয়। তিনি জানান, আগুনে হতাহতের কোনো ঘটনা ঘটেনি। তবে আগুন লাগার কারণ তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে জানা যায়নি। ক্ষয়ক্ষতির পরিমাণও এখনো নিরূপণ করা সম্ভব হয়নি।
