Fire in seven-story building in Mumbai, 7 dead

Seven people have been dead and over 40 injured after a massive fire broke out at a seven-storey building in India's Mumbai.
The fire started at Jay Bhavani building in Goregaon West's Azad Nagar locality around 3 am on Friday, NDTV reports citing local authorities.
Five of the dead are women, and one is a man. A minor is among the injured, all of whom were taken to HBT Hospital and Cooper Hospital in Mumbai.
Assistance is being provided to the blaze victims, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
Flames covered the building from all sides and burned down shops, scrap material, cars, and other vehicles parked on the ground floor, according to NDTV.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
