Former BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul has sent a letter to the ICC demanding the suspension of Bangladesh's full membership, a halt to ICC funding, and the exclusion of the country from international tournaments.

Although the National Sports Council dissolved the board under his leadership last April, Aminul has consistently claimed to be the legitimate president. He maintained this stance in his letter to the ICC, urging the governing body to take action against the BCB until he is reinstated.

When the matter came to light across various media outlets, Aminul dismissed the reports as "completely false" in a video message on Friday. However, portions of the letter sent through his lawyer have surfaced in the hands of journalists, bearing Aminul’s signature.

The letter demands that all ICC funds designated for the BCB be held in escrow until an elected board is reinstated or the ICC Disputes Resolution Committee delivers a final decision. Furthermore, it requested that no funds be released to those claiming control of the BCB based on the elections held on June 7, 2026.

The correspondence also called on the ICC to issue formal warnings to the Government of Bangladesh, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the National Sports Council. It asserted that the June 7 election, conducted under a politically manipulated voter list, was a clear violation of the ICC constitution, and that the ICC does not recognize the winning board as a legitimate authority.

The letter warned that if the previous board is not reinstated within a specified timeframe, stringent measures could follow, including the suspension of BCB’s full membership, freezing of funds, and the exclusion of Bangladesh from ICC events.
