Former Sirajganj-3 MP Abdul Mannan passes away

Abdul Mannan Talukdar, four-time Member of Parliament for Sirajganj-3 (Raiganj-Taradah), passed away on Friday morning at his residence in Dhaka. He was 89 years old.

Sheikh Md. Enamul Haque, joint-office secretary of Sirajganj district BNP, confirmed the news and said the time and place for the funeral prayer will be announced later.

Mannan was a member of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Advisory Council and an executive member of Sirajganj district BNP. He was elected to parliament consecutively in 1991, February 1996, June 1996, and 2001. He also served as president of Sirajganj district BNP.

BNP Standing Committee member Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, district BNP president Rumana Mahmud, and general secretary Saidur Rahman Bacchu expressed deep condolences and extended sympathy to the bereaved family.
