Four BCB officials made OSD based on Jahanara’s allegation
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has made four of its officials OSD (officer on special duty) based on sexual harassment allegations by former national women’s team captain Jahanara Alam.
The officials made OSD are manager S M Golam Faiz, physio Suraiya Akter, coach Mahmud Imon, and officer Sarfaraz Babu.
BCB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nizam Uddin Chowdhury confirmed the matter on Sunday, saying, “The board has made a decision regarding those against whom allegations were made. We are treating the issue with utmost seriousness.”
The main accused is the former manager and selector of the women’s team. He is currently in China, from where he denied Jahanara’s allegations as “baseless.”
Earlier on Saturday, October 8, BCB formed a three-member committee to investigate the matter. The committee is headed by retired Supreme Court Appellate Division Justice Tariq ul Hakim, with new BCB director Rubaba Dowla and Supreme Court senior advocate Barrister Sarwat Siraj Shukla as members.
