Theatre troupe Tarua has arranged four new stagings of the play 'Adamsurat', a production based on the untold stories of marginalized people, negligence, and the absence of justice. The play will be staged on July 23 and 24 at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Two shows will be held each day at 4pm and 7pm, totaling four performances.

'Adamsurat' has been written and directed by Bakar Bakul. It is the second production of the theatre troupe Tarua.

Reflecting on the core concept of the play, Bakar Bakul said that 'Adamsurat' portrays the various inhumane incidents constantly occurring in state, social, and personal lives. There are many such incidents that remain hidden from the public eye or fail to receive justice even when brought to light. The play is built around some of these isolated events and untold moments from the lives of the people of this land.

He further added that every scene of the play will create a sort of suffocating feeling among the audience.

Around 25 artistes are performing in this play. The cast includes Ahmmed Apu, Shahjada Samrat Chowdhury, Suchitra Roy, Khairul Alam Himu, Dipu Rahman, Khalid Bin Nasir, Enayet Mukul, Sagar Mahmud, Ifti Ahmed, Ananti Hossain, Kaniz Nusaiba Salam, Fatematuj Johura Mohua, Shornaly Choity, Mrittika Mati, Riya Debnath, Mezbaul Hasan Ornob, Fardin Riyad, Ratul Ahmmed, Abul Haidar Kanchan, Pronoy Prosad Pal, Tanvir Hossain, Amit Niaz, Rumman Shahriar Shuvo, among others.

The organizers have informed that advance tickets can be booked online as well as over the phone. Additionally, tickets can be collected from the hall counter on the days of the screening.

The play received an overwhelming response from the audience during its previous stagings. Drawing from that experience, the theatre activists of Tarua are expecting a packed hall once again.

It is worth mentioning that the theatre troupe Tarua began its journey on the Dhaka stage in 2018 with the play 'Let Me Out'.
