From Lux Superstar to TV drama heroine: Yumna's new journey begins

Nusrat Afrin Yumna, one of the most talked-about contestants of the 'Lux Channel i Superstar 2025' stage, has now begun a new chapter in her career by stepping into acting on the small screen. She made her acting debut with a tele-drama titled 'Mone Majhe Tumi'.

In the drama, Yumna has been paired with actor Saad Nowfi. The drama, written by Shafiqur Rahman Shantanu, has been co-directed by Amitabh Ahmed Rana and Subrata Mitra. It was officially aired on Channel i on Friday, May 22, at 3:05 pm. The drama will also be released soon on the 'Channel i Prime' YouTube channel.

Sharing her experience about her debut drama, Yumna said, "'Mone Majhe Tumi' is my first drama. I was a bit nervous initially as a newcomer. But working with Nowfi bhai was a great experience. He was very cooperative and guided me throughout the shoot."

Regarding the storyline, Yumna said it is a light romantic tale about a young man who falls in love with a girl at first sight. Beyond traditional love, the boy harbours a deep desire to have the girl as his life partner. However, the story also gives importance to the psychology and independent thinking of modern-day girls.

Yumna explained that many girls today consider marriage a form of bondage because they have careers, higher education, and their own dreams. They fear these dreams may be hindered when faced with conservative mindsets. But this drama shows that with the right person, understanding and respect can make a relationship beautiful rather than confining.

The makers hope this contemporary romantic drama will win the hearts of viewers, while Yumna's new journey has already sparked curiosity among audiences.
