Gaibandha-3: 200 sticks recovered from Jamaat leader's house

Police have recovered a large quantity of bamboo sticks from a house next to a polling station in Gaibandha-3 (Palashbari) constituency. However, no one was detained in the house during the raid.

According to police sources, a raid was conducted on a house located next to the Buzruk Bishnupur Government Primary School polling station in Mahdipur Union of the upazila at 8:30 pm on Wednesday (February 11). The house is said to belong to Al-Amin, the leader of the youth and sports department of the upazila unit Jamaat.

Al-Amin is the son of Ahmed Ali of the village and the responsible leader of the youth and sports department of the ward unit Jamaat.

Palashbari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sarwar Alam Khan said that based on a secret tip-off, a raid was conducted on a one-storey building located north of the polling station at 8:30 pm. About 200 bamboo and tree branch sticks were recovered from there. However, no one could be detained as no one was present at the house during the raid.
