Protests flared once again in Nepal on Sunday night as a faction of the youth-led Gen-Z movement, headed by popular youth leader Sudan Gurung, demanded the resignation of interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

Demonstrators gathered outside the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, voicing anger over recent cabinet appointments, which they claim were made without proper consultation.

Citing a report from Nepalese digital magazine Setopati, Business Standard reported that protesters shouted slogans calling for PM Karki to step down immediately. The group specifically objected to the appointment of Om Prakash Aryal as Home Minister, alleging the move bypassed democratic process and transparency.

“The cabinet was expanded without any consultation with us,” said one protester. “We strongly oppose Aryal’s appointment.”

Sudan Gurung, who has emerged as a key political voice among Nepal's youth, warned of escalating action if their concerns are ignored.

“We brought this government to power. If we take to the streets again, no one will be able to stop us,” Gurung declared during the protest. “We will uproot those we once helped rise.”

“Om Prakash Aryal, a lawyer, is secretly making himself the Home Minister. This cannot be tolerated.”

Tensions have been rising between the interim government and youth-led movements like Gen-Z, who claim they are being sidelined despite their role in recent political changes. Observers say the unrest signals growing dissatisfaction among Nepal's younger generation with the current political establishment.
