The first half of the World Cup Group L match between Ghana and Panama in Toronto ended goalless, with neither side able to break the deadlock in a competitive contest.
Panama started aggressively and created a golden chance in the second minute. Cecilio Waterman's shot from a cross from the right was brilliantly saved by Ghana's experienced goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi.
Panama created more goalscoring opportunities, with Jose Luis Rodriguez attacking from the left, but Ghana's defence remained alert to clear the danger.
Ghana also threatened on the counter-attack, with Kamaldeen Sulemana and Ernest Nuamah showing pace, but they could not convert their chances.
The midfield battle was intense, with several physical contests. Ghana's Caleb Yeremky received a yellow card in the 17th minute for a foul on Panama's Yoel Bárcenas.
