GM Quader stuck in traffic for 22 hours to reach Rangpur home
Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader took 22 hours to travel from Dhaka to his ancestral home in Rangpur by road due to severe traffic congestion.
He was travelling to Rangpur to celebrate Eid and perform animal sacrifice, according to party sources.
Quader was originally scheduled to fly from Dhaka to Saidpur Airport on Tuesday. However, due to adverse weather and uncertainty over flight departure, he left his Dhaka residence by car around 1:45 pm on Tuesday with his personal assistant Abu Tayyeb.
He was forced to spend the night in the car at Chandra, Tangail and Sirajganj due to severe traffic jams in those areas.
The two-hour journey from Bogura to Rangpur took over six hours on Wednesday morning. He finally arrived at his ancestral residence, Sky View House in New Senpara, Rangpur city, around 12:30 pm on Wednesday.
Jatiya Party Presidium member and Rangpur district convener Azmal Hossain Lebu told this correspondent that Quader was physically exhausted after being stuck in traffic for 22 hours on his journey from Dhaka.
