Gold price jumps again, up Tk 5,482 per bhori
Gold prices have risen again in Bangladesh, with the price of 22-carat gold increasing by Tk 5,482 per bhori to Tk 246,110, including VAT.
The new rates, announced by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS), came into effect at 10am on Saturday (August 22).
According to the revised rates, 21-carat gold now costs Tk 235,030 per bhori, while 18-carat gold is priced at Tk 201,846. Gold under the traditional system has been set at Tk 164,812 per bhori.
BAJUS said the latest adjustment was made following a rise in the price of locally sourced refined gold, known as tejabhi or pure gold, and after reviewing overall market conditions.
The latest increase comes just two days after BAJUS raised gold prices by Tk 3,849 per bhori on Aug 20, setting the price of 22-carat gold at Tk 240,628.
A bhori is equivalent to 11.664 grams.
