Gold prices in Bangladesh have been reduced once again following a decline in the price of refined gold in the local market, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bangladesh Jewellers Association).

The new rates came into effect at 10:00am on Wednesday (May 20).

Under the revised pricing, the price of 22-carat gold has been reduced by Tk 2,158 per bhori (11.664 grams) to Tk 235,963. Prices for other categories have also been adjusted: 21-carat gold is now Tk 225,232 per bhori, 18-carat gold Tk 193,039, and traditional gold Tk 157,230.

The association said the adjustment reflects a fall in the price of refined gold in the domestic market. This marks another round of revision following the last adjustment on May 16, when prices were reduced by Tk 4,374 per bhori for 22-carat gold.

So far in 2026, gold prices in the country have been revised 66 times, with 35 increases and 31 decreases. In 2025, prices were adjusted 93 times overall.

Meanwhile, silver prices remained unchanged. According to the latest update, 22-carat silver is priced at Tk 5,657 per bhori, while 21-carat silver stands at Tk 5,365, 18-carat at Tk 4,607, and traditional silver at Tk 3,441.

The association said silver prices have been adjusted 39 times so far this year.
