Less than 24 hours after increasing gold and silver prices, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced a fresh price reduction in the domestic market. Under the revised rates, the price of 22-carat gold has been reduced by Tk 2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams).

According to BAJUS, the adjustment was made after reviewing the overall market situation and the decline in the price of pure gold. The new rates came into effect from 10:00 am on Tuesday.

Under the revised pricing, a bhori of 22-carat gold now costs Tk 220,858, down from Tk 223,074. The price of 21-carat gold has been reduced by Tk 2,100 to Tk 210,943 per bhori, while 18-carat gold is now priced at Tk 181,200 after a Tk 1,750 cut. The price of traditional-method gold has also been lowered by Tk 1,458, bringing it to Tk 148,016 per bhori.

BAJUS said the revised prices include VAT, although making charges will be added separately depending on the design and craftsmanship of the jewellery. The association added that details regarding VAT on silver ornaments will be announced separately.

Silver prices have also been reduced. Following the latest adjustment, the price of 22-carat silver has fallen by Tk 59 to Tk 4,607 per bhori, including VAT. The price of 21-carat silver has been cut by Tk 175 to Tk 4,374 per bhori, while 18-carat silver now costs Tk 3,791 after a reduction of Tk 116.
