Google brings 'AI Overview' feature to Gmail

Google is set to add its popular 'AI Overview' feature to Gmail. After the positive response this feature received when launched in Search, the tech giant has now taken an initiative to bring it to the email platform.

According to Google, the way people search for information online is rapidly changing with advancements in artificial intelligence. Once this new feature is enabled, AI will automatically summarise key information from emails in the Gmail inbox. This will help users easily identify necessary and important emails and access essential information in less time.

Additionally, users will be able to get information by asking questions in the Gmail search bar. The AI will understand the user's query, gather information from multiple emails and conversations, and create an instant summary. Google claims this will make search results more relevant and effective.

Initially, this feature will be rolled out for Google Workspace users. However, to use it, users must have Smart Features turned on for Google Workspace, including Gemini for Workspace.
