Grameen Bank Branch in Gazipur targeted in petrol bomb attack
Miscreants hurled three petrol bombs at the Grameen Bank branch in Shreepur of Gazipur in the early hours of Sunday (November 16).
The branch, situated in Bartoba Bazar of Maona Union, had one bomb land inside the premises, partially damaging the exterior signboard, while the other bombs exploded outside.
Bank manager Rehana Parvin said the security guard inside saw 7–8 attackers fleeing after the explosions. No internal damage occurred, but staff were left shaken.
Area manager Abdur Razzak said the matter was reported to authorities, who advised filing a general diary at the local police station.
Mohammad Abdul Barik, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shreepur Police Station, said, "The attackers were unable to cause major damage due to police patrols."
"Bottles used in the attack were recovered, and an investigation into this matter is underway," he added.
