Erling Haaland struck twice as Norway moved 3–1 ahead of Senegal in a high-intensity 2026 World Cup group-stage clash, continuing a night of prolific scoring across multiple fixtures.

Haaland’s second goal came in the 58th minute, restoring Norway’s two-goal cushion after Senegal had briefly reignited the contest. The Norwegian striker capitalised on a rapid attacking move and unleashed a powerful finish beyond goalkeeper Édouard Mendy.

Norway had earlier taken control through Marcus Holmgren Pedersen’s opener in the first half, before Martin Ødegaard orchestrated a swift counterattack that led to Haaland’s first goal.

Senegal, however, responded in the 53rd minute when Ismaïla Sarr found the net to cut the deficit to 2–1 and raise hopes of a comeback.

Those hopes were short-lived as Norway immediately regained dominance, with Haaland’s clinical finishing proving decisive once again.

The brace further underlined Haaland’s prolific form on the international stage, taking his record to 58 goals in 52 appearances for Norway, as his side closed in on a second consecutive victory in the group stage.
