Former captain Habibul Bashar Suman has been appointed chief selector of the new selection panel of the national cricket team. Former pacer Hasibul Hossain will be a member of this four-member panel led by Habibul Bashar. In addition, there are two new faces Naeem Islam and Nadif Chowdhury. According to the announcement of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), the term of this newly appointed selection panel will be until the ICC ODI World Cup to be held in South Africa in 2027. The cricket board has undertaken this long-term plan mainly keeping the World Cup in mind.

জাতীয় ক্রিকেট দলের নতুন নির্বাচক প্যানেলের প্রধান নির্বাচক হয়েছেন সাবেক অধিনায়ক হাবিবুল বাশার সুমন। হাবিবুল বাশারের নেতৃত্বাধীন চার সদস্যের এই প্যানেলে সদস্য হিসেবে থাকছেন সাবেক পেসার হাসিবুল হোসেন। এছাড়া আরও আছেন নতুন দুই মুখ নাঈম ইসলাম ও নাদিফ চৌধুরী। বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ড (বিসিবি)-এর ঘোষণা অনুযায়ী, নবনিযুক্ত এই নির্বাচক প্যানেলের মেয়াদ থাকবে ২০২৭ সালে দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকায় অনুষ্ঠিতব্য আইসিসি ওয়ানডে বিশ্বকাপ পর্যন্ত। মূলত বিশ্বকাপের কথা মাথায় রেখেই এই দীর্ঘমেয়াদি পরিকল্পনা হাতে নিয়েছে ক্রিকেট বোর্ড।
