Hadi might have been killed as per plot by Jamaat-BNP: Faisal Karim
Denying his involvement with the killing of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, the main accused Faisal Karim Masud has claimed that this murder may be a ploy by Jamaat-BNP.
When mentioned that he was seen in the CCTV footage of the scene, Faisal said, 'I was not seen shooting.' Later, he completely denied being at the scene.
On Sunday (March 22) morning, the two main accused in Hadi's murder, Faisal Karim Masud and Alamgir Hossain, were produced before the Bidhannagar Subdistrict Court of North 24 Parganas district. After the hearing, a local court in West Bengal sent them to 12 days' jail custody. The next hearing date has been set for April 2.
When journalists asked them various questions while leaving the court after the hearing, Faisal said, 'I am not involved in these activities. This may be a ploy by Jamaat-BNP. Those who are chanting Hadi's name in Bangladesh, must know that he was actually a militant.’
When journalists asked Faisal about Hadi’s murder, he clearly stated, ‘I did not do this. I was not involved in any such activity.’ When asked whether he had been framed in the incident, he refused to say anything.
On March 8, Faisal and Alamgir were arrested by the West Bengal Police’s Special Task Force (STF) from the Bangaon area of West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district, which borders Bangladesh. The two had illegally crossed the border and hid in Bangaon of West Bengal. STF sources said that they were waiting for an opportunity to try to enter Bangladesh again.
Later, when they were arrested and produced before the court, they were ordered to be remanded for 14 days.
On December 12, the day after the announcement of the schedule for the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum, Hadi, who was riding a rickshaw, was shot in the head from a moving motorcycle on Box-Culvert Road in Purana Paltan of Dhaka. He was treated in critical condition first at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later at Evercare Hospital.
When his condition deteriorated, he was taken to Singapore by air ambulance on December 15. He died three days later on December 18. Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of Inqilab Manch, filed an attempt-to-murder case with Paltan Police Station on December 14, accusing Faisal Karim Masud. After Hadi died, the case was transformed into a murder case.
