Hailstorm in capital at midnight

There was a storm and hailstorm in the capital city of Dhaka in the early hours of Sunday. This rain which lasted for more than half an hour was accompanied by strong winds.

This storm started around 2:30am on Sunday. Since last Thursday, the sky has been covered with clouds in many parts of the country including the capital. There was rain in a few places.

Earlier on Saturday, the weather department said that there may be gusty wind and rain with thunder in some places of Dhaka, Rangpur, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions during the night. However, day and night temperatures across the country may increase.

Meanwhile, another forecast said that there may be temporary gusty or gusty winds of 60 to 80 km per hour over Comilla, Sylhet and Mymensingh regions from west or north-west till 1.00am on Sunday or rain with thunder. The river ports in these areas were also asked to display naval warning signal number 2.
