Hajj sermon at Arafat: Prayers for Muslim unity, peace
Hajj is a fundamental pillar of Islam, based on the oneness of Allah and obedience to Him. This holy festival is also an important means of fostering mutual understanding, harmony, cooperation and unity among Muslims from diverse nationalities and backgrounds worldwide.
Imam of Masjid an-Nabawi Sheikh Ali Al-Huzhaifi made these remarks while delivering the historic sermon at the Namirah Mosque in Arafat on Tuesday, May 26.
He said that for proper performance of Hajj, good character, truthfulness and refraining from sins, disputes and partisan or political slogans are essential.
The sermon also discussed the pillars of Islam, the importance of Taqwa (fearing Allah), and Allah's help for believers.
Al-Huzhaifi described the stages of Hajj rituals and reminded pilgrims to maintain peace and discipline, avoid overcrowding, and strictly follow crowd management rules to ensure public safety.
In the concluding part of the sermon, he prayed for the acceptance of pilgrims' rituals, for unity in the Muslim world, and for the prosperity and well-being of Saudi leadership serving the two holy mosques.
After the historic sermon, pilgrims performed Zuhr and Asr prayers together and in shortened form.
Makkah Deputy Governor Prince Saud bin Mishal, Grand Mufti Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan, Minister of Islamic Affairs Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Asheikh, and President of Religious Affairs Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais were present at the Namirah Mosque.
