Bangladeshi-origin midfielder Hamza Choudhury is at the centre of new transfer speculation. According to a report by Azerbaijani sports media OffsidePlus.az, the 28-year-old midfielder is set to join the country's top-flight club Sabah FC from English club Leicester City. However, the move has not yet been officially confirmed. Neither Leicester City nor Sabah FC have made any announcement regarding Hamza's transfer as of yet.

According to the report, discussions between the two parties had been ongoing for some time, and Hamza has reached an agreement on personal terms. If the transfer is completed, he will play for Sabah FC in the new season.

In the 2024-25 season, Hamza played on loan for English club Sheffield United. Prior to that, he also featured for Watford. He has won the FA Cup with Leicester in 2021, the FA Community Shield in the 2021-22 season, and the Championship title in the 2023-24 season. According to Transfermarkt, Hamza's current market value is approximately 4 million euros.

Meanwhile, current Azerbaijan Premier League champions Sabah FC are playing in the Champions League qualifiers this season. Having passed the first two rounds, the club has secured a place in the third qualifying round.
