Hamza joins Bangladesh squad in Singapore for Asian Cup qualifier
The Bangladesh national football team is now in Singapore to play a crucial AFC Asian Cup qualifier. Hamza Chowdhury and captain Jamal Bhuiyan, along with the rest of the squad, arrived directly from Vietnam on Friday, March 27.
Bangladesh will conclude their Asian Cup qualifying campaign with an away match against hosts Singapore on Tuesday, March 31. The team aims to end the campaign with a win.
Javier Cabrera's side are under some pressure after a 3-0 defeat to Vietnam in a friendly match earlier. The primary objective now is to regain confidence with a positive result in the final match.
Statistics are not particularly encouraging for Bangladesh either. They lost 2-1 to Singapore at home on June 10 last year.
In Group C, Bangladesh are third with five points from five matches, recording one win, two draws and two losses. Singapore, meanwhile, have already secured their place in the main round of the 2027 Asian Cup.
