Health minister meets Indian High Commissioner to strengthen bilateral health cooperation

Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma paid a courtesy call on Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Mohammad Sakhawat Hossain on Tuesday, March 24. State Minister Dr M A Muhit and senior officials of the ministry were also present on the occasion.

The meeting discussed further strengthening cooperation in the public health sector between the two countries. This includes mutual exchange in medical research and advanced medical care, cancer treatment, and development of traditional medicine. Views were also exchanged on various people-centric initiatives to ensure affordable healthcare for the general population.

Both sides also reviewed proposals for capacity building, connecting the pharmaceutical industry, cooperation in medical education, and digital and AI-based healthcare.

Both parties agreed to advance this cooperation based on shared priorities and mutual welfare and benefit.
