Heath Streak, the former Zimbabwe cricket captain, and also a former bowling coach of Bangladesh cricket team, has passed away at the age of 49.

Both his family and sources within the Zimbabwe cricket community have confirmed the death.

Streak had been a pivotal member of the coaching staff in Bangladesh, serving as the pace-bowling coach. His contributions played a big role in nurturing many of Bangladesh's current pace attack.

He battled cancer for over a year, and succumbed to his prolonged illness.

Only a few days ago, rumour of his demise reverberated worldwide, causing a momentary confusion. Heath Streak himself later clarified that he was, indeed, alive.

Heath Streak leaves behind an illustrious legacy, having participated in 254 international matches. His profound impact on the sport is underscored by his remarkable achievement of amassing over 15,000 runs in competitive cricket, in addition to clinching more than 13,000 wickets. He will forever be remembered as one of the greatest all-rounders of his era.
