Popular American television series 'Heroes' and 'Nashville' actress Hayden Panettiere is no more. She passed away at the age of 36 on Sunday (August 16). Her representative confirmed the news of her death. However, the initial cause of death has not been disclosed. She was found unresponsive at a residence in Greenville, South Carolina, and was declared dead despite receiving medical assistance. Preliminary investigations showed no signs of injury or foul play.

Born in 1989, Hayden started working in the entertainment industry at a very young age. After appearing in front of the camera as a child artist in commercials, she voiced the character Dot in the animated film 'A Bug's Life'. Later, she acted in various movies and television productions, including 'Remember the Titans' and 'Tiger Cruise'. At just 17 years old, Hayden gained international recognition by playing the role of Claire Bennet in the series 'Heroes'. The show, which aired from 2006 to 2010, made her an overnight sensation.

Following the success of 'Heroes', Hayden earned further critical acclaim for her role as country singer Juliette Barnes in the series 'Nashville'. She received two Golden Globe nominations for this character. The actress also recorded songs for the series. Additionally, she became familiar to a new generation of audiences by playing Kirby Reed in 'Scream 4' and 'Scream 6'. Among her film appearances, 'Sleepwalker' was one of her later works.

Beyond her acting career, Hayden was also in the spotlight due to various personal struggles. She battled depression, addiction, and alcohol abuse for a long time. In 2015, while filming 'Nashville', she admitted herself to a rehabilitation center. Her daughter, Kaya, was born in 2014 with her former fiancé, Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko. Later in 2018, she decided to relinquish full custody of her daughter to Klitschko.

Hayden was open about the difficult times in her life. In her memoir published in 2026, titled "This Is Me: A Reckoning," she reflected on her experiences with fame, postpartum depression, addiction, and recovery. During a promotional event for the book in May, she spoke about the importance of sharing her experiences with others. She expressed hope that her journey would have a positive impact on the lives of others.

Hayden's sudden demise has cast a pall of gloom over Hollywood. Her father, Skip Panettiere, remembered his daughter as an extraordinary human being in a statement, saying that Hayden brought love and joy into the lives of everyone she knew and the millions of viewers who watched her on screen. He also requested privacy and personal space for the family during this difficult time.
