Houthi missile attacks injure 13 in Saudi Arabia, alerts in 6 cities

Thirteen people have been injured in a series of missile and drone attacks by Yemen's Houthi rebels on various civilian areas in Saudi Arabia. Seven houses and two vehicles were damaged in the attacks.

Following the attacks, Saudi authorities issued alerts in six cities, including Jeddah.

The information was provided in a statement early Tuesday, September 15, by Major General Turki Al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Saudi-led military coalition in Yemen.

Saudi authorities said the attacks were carried out on Monday in civilian areas of Khamis Mushait, Abha and Taif in Saudi Arabia. The injuries sustained by some of the victims were minor to moderate.

Following the attacks, the country's civil defence authorities issued alerts in several cities in the western and southern regions, including Abha, Jeddah, Jazan, Taif, Yanbu and Al-Ula.

Residents have been urged to remain vigilant about possible attacks and to follow the instructions of the relevant authorities.

In a statement, the Saudi-led military coalition accused the Houthis of deliberately targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure. The coalition claimed that through these repeated attacks, the Houthis are pursuing a policy of escalating tensions.

The statement also said the coalition's joint forces will take "responsible and firm measures" to protect Saudi Arabia's sovereignty and ensure the safety of civilians and civilian infrastructure.

Earlier last week, more than 70 people were injured in various cities and areas of Saudi Arabia in Houthi attacks, including women and children.

After several rounds of drone attacks in the Riyadh and Medina regions on Friday, Saudi Arabia temporarily shut down the country's east-west oil pipeline.

Various organisations in the Gulf and the Muslim world have condemned the Houthi attacks and expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia.
