Houthi PM killed in Israeli airstrike
Ahmed al-Rahawi, Prime Minister of the Iran-backed Houthi rebels, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Thursday (August 28) in an apartment in Sana’a, Yemen’s Al-Jumhuriya television reported.
Yemen’s Aden Al-Ghad reported that several of al-Rahawi’s associates were also killed in the attack.
According to reports, the strike was separate from another attack outside the capital, Sana’a. It targeted a high-level meeting of Houthi leaders, attended by at least 10 ministers, including the Houthi defense minister.
The exact number of casualties from the airstrike remains unclear.
