How to find your voter number and polling centre
To facilitate voters in the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election and referendum, the Bangladesh Election Commission has introduced four simple ways to check polling centre details and voter numbers. The services combine an app, hotline, SMS and website to ensure quick and accurate access to information.
The information was disclosed in a notice signed by Election Commission public relations director Md Ruhul Amin Mallik on Saturday.
The four methods are:
1. Smart Election Management BD app
Smartphone users can download the Smart Election Management BD app from the Play Store or App Store. After installation, select 13th National Parliamentary Election from the dashboard. Then go to Find polling centre, enter the NID number and date of birth to view the voter number, serial number and polling centre address.
2. Hotline 105
Voters can call 105 from any phone and obtain information through an operator. After connecting the call, press 9 to speak to an operator. The NID number and date of birth are required. The service will remain active daily from 6am to 12 midnight.
3. SMS service
Go to the message option on a mobile phone, type PC
4. Election Commission website
From a laptop or computer, visit ecs.gov.bd and click on the Polling centre menu. Information can be accessed in two ways: by selecting the constituency and upazila to view centre lists, or by entering NID number and date of birth to find personal voter number and polling centre.
