I face criticism whenever I post photos with men: Pori Moni

Bangladeshi actress Pari Moni has said she frequently faces criticism and abusive comments whenever she shares photos with a man on social media, claiming that the reaction persists even when the person is her own brother.

Speaking to reporters at an event held at the Shooting Club in Dhaka on Wednesday, the actress discussed her personal life, marriage, arrest and ongoing legal battle.

Addressing speculation surrounding her personal relationships, Pari Moni said that even posting a picture with her brother triggers negative reactions online.

"Even if I post a photo with my brother, I get abused. People don't want to see me with any man. They only want to see me single and with my children. I honestly don't know why," she said.

She added that excessive public interest and constant commentary about her private life on social media often leave her feeling uncomfortable.

Referring to her arrest, Pari Moni alleged that proper legal procedures were not followed. She claimed there was no arrest warrant at the time, nor did law enforcement have permission to search her residence.
"After learning everything that happened, I felt that many aspects of the incident were planned," she said.

Speaking about the case currently pending against her, the actress expressed confidence in the judicial process, saying she has full faith in the law and believes the truth will eventually come to light. She added that she continues to appear before the court as required.

Pari Moni also stressed the importance of ensuring safety and security for artists as well as all citizens of Bangladesh, saying everyone should be able to live free from harassment and intimidation.

Commenting on becoming the most-followed Bangladeshi celebrity on Facebook, she said she has never viewed it as a competition, adding that the love and support of her fans remain her greatest achievement.
