I will do whatever is good for the people of India and Bangladesh: Dinesh Trivedi
India's new High Commissioner to Dhaka, Dinesh Trivedi, has expressed hope that the bilateral relations between the people of India and Bangladesh will further strengthen.
He said, 'The bond between the two countries is not limited to geographical boundaries. We have a common dream, and that is the common dream of democracy.'
He made the remarks while paying tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at the historic Netaji Bhavan in Kolkata on Thursday.
At this time, Dinesh Trivedi said, 'Not only the 140 crore people of India, I am also adding another 20 crore people of Bangladesh to it. Whatever is good for the 160 crore people, I am sure that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the people of this country and the people of Bangladesh will bless me; so that we can be together and succeed in what we are going to achieve.'
Dinesh Trivedi is coming to Dhaka on Friday with his wife Mrinal Trivedi. Earlier, while talking to news agency ANI on Thursday, Dinesh Trivedi emphasized the close ties between India and Bangladesh and said,'India and Bangladesh will further strengthen their bilateral relations based on mutual aspirations, democratic values and close ties between the people of the two countries.'
Regarding the reason for visiting Netaji Bhavan before coming to Dhaka, Dinesh Trivedi said, 'This visit carries a very deep personal significance for me. Because I grew up in this area and am deeply influenced by the ideals of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. My house, where I spent my childhood, is just 400 yards away from this place. We grew up with Netaji's passion and ideals and all the values that have been instilled in us are the contribution of Netaji. For me, nothing can be better than coming to Netaji Bhavan.'
Earlier, on June 5, Dinesh Trivedi received the credentials of the High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh from Indian President Draupadi Murmu.
