‘I won’t return to music’: Rinku shares emotional message after four strokes
Popular folk singer Moshiur Rahman Rinku, widely known for his rise to fame through the reality show Closeup One, has revealed that he is unlikely to return to professional music after suffering four strokes, describing the chapter as a painful reality he has come to accept.
Speaking candidly in a recent travel documentary titled Pother Golpo, the singer reflected on his health struggles, musical journey and life away from the spotlight.
Rinku said he has suffered multiple strokes since 2020, leaving one side of his body partially paralysed and significantly affecting his ability to perform. As a result, he no longer sees a realistic path back to the music career that once made him a household name.
“After four strokes, I realised that some dreams have to be let go. I have accepted this reality,” he said. “The kind of comeback I would want is no longer possible. If I cannot return fully, I do not see the need to return at all. Even if I am gone, my songs will remain. My only wish is that they are not forgotten.”
The singer also expressed disappointment over the absence of many former associates during his difficult times, contrasting what he described as conditional relationships in the city with the genuine affection he now receives in his village.
“Many people I once knew no longer keep in touch,” he said. “But the love I receive from villagers is sincere and unconditional. They have become my closest companions.”
Despite his health challenges, Rinku said he is finding peace in a quieter life. He now spends most of his time managing an agricultural farm in his native village and drawing strength from the support of local residents.
“I do not seek sympathy from anyone,” he added. “The people around me have given me a new reason to live.”
