The International Cricket Council (ICC) has clarified the purpose of a recent visit by a two-member delegation to Bangladesh, ahead of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) elections scheduled for June 7.

In a statement, the ICC said the delegation’s visit was aimed at engaging with stakeholders on matters related to governance and election processes in cricket administration.

The delegation included ICC Board Director Dr. Mohammed A S Muzammil (Cricket South Africa) and Tavengwa Mukuhlani (Zimbabwe Cricket).

According to the ICC, the team met various stakeholders in Bangladesh to review developments related to cricket governance and ongoing processes within the BCB framework.

The global governing body further stated that the delegation will submit its findings and observations to the ICC Board in due course. It also emphasized that the team will not make any public comments on the visit.

The ICC cautioned that media reports, interpretations, or claims surrounding the visit are speculative in nature and do not reflect the official position of the council.
