The International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided that if Bangladesh does not participate in the 2026 T20 World Cup in India, a replacement team will be included in their place. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has been given one day to communicate its final decision. Citing security concerns, the BCB had indicated the possibility of not sending the team to India. The matter was discussed in today’s ICC board meeting, where a vote approved the inclusion of a replacement team should Bangladesh withdraw. Before the decision is implemented, the ICC has asked the BCB to consult with the Bangladesh government and confirm its position within 24 hours. The information was confirmed by sources via cricket website Cricinfo.

আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেট কাউন্সিল (আইসিসি) ২০২৬ সালের টি–টোয়েন্টি বিশ্বকাপে ভারতে বাংলাদেশ দল না পাঠানোর সিদ্ধান্ত চূড়ান্ত হলে বাংলাদেশের পরিবর্তে বিকল্প দল অন্তর্ভুক্ত করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে। তবে চূড়ান্ত অবস্থান জানাতে বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ডকে (বিসিবি) এক দিনের সময় দিয়েছে সংস্থাটি। নিরাপত্তাজনিত উদ্বেগের কথা উল্লেখ করে বিসিবি ভারতে দল না পাঠানোর বিষয়টি আইসিসিকে অবহিত করলে বিষয়টি নিয়ে আজ আইসিসির বোর্ডসভায় ভোটাভুটি অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সভায় বাংলাদেশের পরিবর্তে বিকল্প দল অন্তর্ভুক্ত করার পক্ষে সিদ্ধান্ত গৃহীত হয়। তবে সিদ্ধান্ত কার্যকর করার আগে বিসিবিকে বাংলাদেশ সরকারের সঙ্গে আলোচনা করে চূড়ান্ত সিদ্ধান্ত জানাতে বলা হয়েছে। এ লক্ষ্যে আইসিসি এক দিনের সময়সীমা নির্ধারণ করেছে। ক্রিকেটভিত্তিক ওয়েবসাইট ক্রিকইনফোর বরাতে সংশ্লিষ্ট সূত্রগুলো এ তথ্য জানিয়েছে।
