A Bangladeshi woman was allegedly dragged out of her car by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Minneapolis of Minnesota, US.

A video of the incident went viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion and criticism.

Detainee Alia Rahman is a software engineer and human rights and LGBT rights activist.

According to the New York Post, during a raid to arrest illegal immigrants, local residents protested. At that time, Alia Rahman was arrested after she allegedly blocked the path of masked ICE agents with her car.

In the video that went viral on social media, ICE agents were seen breaking the window of Alia's car and forcibly taking her out. At that time, Alia claimed to be sick and was trying to get to the doctor. Protesters at the scene were shouting at the ICE agents to stop.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is an agency under the United States Department of Homeland Security. The agency is responsible for detaining, prosecuting, and deporting illegal immigrants.

US President Donald Trump's tough immigration policies have recently sparked renewed controversy over the activities and behavior of ICE agents.

According to the New York Post, 43-year-old Alia Rahman is an experienced software engineer. She describes herself as a "community-focused security practitioner." She was previously a fellow at the New America Open Technology Institute and worked on the policy of using police body cameras.

According to her LinkedIn profile, she holds a master's degree from Purdue University and is certified in cybersecurity.

Although Alia Rahman was born in the United States, she spent a large part of her childhood in Bangladesh. In an interview, she mentioned the movement of garment workers in Bangladesh and social change. She identifies as "gender queer" and has long been involved with Black Lives Matter, the pro-Palestinian movement and LGBT rights groups.

It was not immediately known whether any formal charges had been filed against Alia following Tuesday's incident. However, ICE authorities claim she obstructed an operation against illegal immigrants.
