India beat New Zealand to reach World Cup final

India dished out yet another commanding show and defeated New Zealand to storm into the final of the ICC men's ODI World Cup. The host India beat the Kiwis by 70 runs in the first semifinal at the Wenkhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Chasing the huge target of 398 runs, New Zealand were bowled out for 327. Darryl Mitchell fought alone for New Zealand as he played a great innings of 134 runs off 119 balls. Captain Kane Williamson scored 69 runs from 73 balls while Glenn Phillips made 41 off 33 balls. Indian pacer Mohammed Sami single-handedly crushed New Zealand batting order. He picked up 7 wickets for 57 runs.

Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat first. Virat Kohli brought up his 50th ODI century. He made 117 runs. Shreyas Iyer also scored a century (105). At the end of 50 overs, India got a huge score of 397 runs for 4 wickets.

Mohammad Shami was adjudged Man of the Match. Australia plays South Africa on Thursday in the second semifinal match. The final is on Sunday.
