India expects to strengthen ties with Bangladesh

Relations between Bangladesh and India had become somewhat stagnant after the fall of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the student-people's uprising. However, the situation has begun to change somewhat following the elections. In this context, India has expressed its expectation of moving ties with Bangladesh forward.

This was stated in response to a question at the weekly briefing of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs on Friday (July 24), where ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal conveyed this expectation.

During the briefing, it was asked that Bangladesh has sent two press officers to India who had previously expressed anti-India positions on social media. What is India's position on this?

In response, the foreign ministry spokesperson said, "We have been informed about the appointment of new officers. We want to take our relationship forward. We look forward to working with the Bangladesh High Commission here to strengthen relations between the two countries."

During the briefing, a journalist named Gautam Lahiri asked, "The US Ambassador is coming to Dhaka soon. Has he informed the foreign ministry about this? Whether the foreign ministry is aware of the purpose of his visit?"

In response, Randhir Jaiswal said, "We have no information regarding the US Ambassador's visit."
