India opt to bowl first, Pandya misses out
India won the toss and elected to field against Pakistan in the Asia Cup final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 28, at 8:30pm Bangladesh time.
All-rounder Hardik Pandya missed out due to injury, with Rinku Singh replacing him in the XI. India made two other changes, recalling Jasprit Bumrah and Shivam Dube in place of Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana.
Pandya had limped off during the 10th over of the Super Four match against Sri Lanka and has not regained fitness.
Pakistan named an unchanged XI. Captain Salman Agha said his side had played on this pitch before but had yet to produce a complete performance, adding that they were determined to deliver their best in the final.
India XI: Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, Rinku Singh, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy.
Pakistan XI: Sahibzada Farhan, Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Salman Agha, Hussain Talat, Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Abrar Ahmed.
