Indian High Commissioner hopes PM Tarique Rahman will visit India soon

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi has expressed hope that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will visit India in due time.

He made the remarks during a briefing after a meeting with Environment Minister Abdul Awal Mintu at the Secretariat on Monday afternoon.

The Indian High Commissioner said there are many environmental issues between Bangladesh and India, in addition to economic and commercial matters. The two countries will work together in these areas.

He said India wants to further strengthen the relationship between the people of the two countries. Bangladesh and India will also work together on environmental protection.

Environment Minister Abdul Awal Mintu said Bangladesh's commercial ties with India are strong. Discussions on political and commercial relations with India, as a neighbouring country, will continue.
