Indian singer Srikanto Acharya visits Bangladesh with family
Renowned Indian singer Srikanto Acharya has visited Bangladesh with his family, spending time at several cultural and historic locations in Dhaka.
The popular singer, long admired by Bangladeshi audiences for his Rabindra Sangeet and modern tracks, visited the historic Dhakeshwari National Temple during his trip.
He also stopped by the well-known publishing house Baatighar, where he held a courtesy meeting with officials.
Speaking about his visit, Acharya said he has been travelling to Bangladesh since 2000 and has visited Dhaka multiple times over the past 26 years, along with other parts of the country.
However, he noted that this was his first visit to Dhakeshwari Temple.
“This visit is special for me. It coincides with the Pohela Boishakh festivities, and I am travelling with my family. Experiencing this historic place in such a festive atmosphere feels wonderful,” he said.
Shreekanta Acharya remains a familiar voice in Bangladeshi households, with his songs widely enjoyed across generations. His current visit is being seen by cultural enthusiasts as a continuation of the deep artistic and cultural connection between the two Bengals.
He is expected to stay in Dhaka for a few days with his family before returning to Kolkata.
