Instagram, Facebook down, app services disrupted by outage
Instagram and Facebook services have been disrupted due to a major global technical outage. As a result, users are unable to use the apps normally.
On Instagram, various issues have surfaced, including new photos failing to load and profiles not being displayed. Although all parts of the app are not entirely down, users are encountering error messages in many instances.
According to reports from various technology monitoring sites, Facebook and Instagram are currently not working for some regions or users due to technical glitches. Server-related problems are causing issues with app loading (feeds or timelines not refreshing) and throwing server connection login errors.
Technology monitoring website Downdetector stated that the problems began around 5pm local time (Eastern Time in the US, which is 3am Bangladesh Time) and around 10pm in the UK (which is 3am Bangladesh Time). At that time, a sudden and massive spike was seen in error reports.
The report mentioned that users from different parts of the world faced similar issues. However, the exact cause of the outage was not immediately known.
