iPhone users face multiple problems

A growing number of iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone Air users are reportedly facing a frustrating software or firmware-related issue where their devices fail to power back on after the battery is fully drained, even when connected to a charger.

According to widespread user complaints across Reddit and technology forums, affected devices often show no response after shutdown — with no charging icon, Apple logo, or connection detected through wired charging methods.

Tech journalist Benjamin Mayo of 9to5Mac said he personally experienced the issue with his iPhone Air after the battery died overnight. Despite immediate charging attempts, the device remained unresponsive for several minutes and failed to restart through standard troubleshooting methods, including force restarts and multiple USB-C cables.

Users have identified wireless charging, particularly via MagSafe, as the most reliable workaround. Reports suggest placing the phone on a wireless charging pad for 10 to 15 minutes can restore enough battery power for the device to reboot normally.

Some users also reported success using higher-wattage USB-C chargers, such as MacBook power adapters, though lower-powered chargers often failed to revive affected phones promptly.

The exact cause remains unclear, but online discussions point to a possible battery firmware issue requiring a minimum voltage threshold before the phone can restart — a condition wireless charging may help achieve more consistently.

Apple has not yet officially addressed the problem.

Until a formal fix is released, users are advised to avoid allowing their devices to fully discharge when possible and to keep access to a wireless charger as a precaution.
