Era Sikdar returns to big screen with ‘Konya’

Popular model and actress Era Sikdar is set to return to the silver screen with her new film 'Konya', releasing on October 24.

Directed by Rafiqul Islam Khan, Era will be seen in  the lead role of Rekha.

Rekha, a courageous girl from a poor family, struggles to support her sick mother and siblings after losing her father. She works as a labourer and clinic cleaner, overcoming hardships at every stage of life.

Era said, “Playing Rekha is a challenging role, and I gave my utmost to meet the director’s trust. Audiences will see the effort behind bringing her character to life.”

Harun Sheikh stars opposite Era, with Maruf Akib, Abhi, Arian, Elin, Kazi Hayat, Rebeka, Nisho, Shamim Sarkar, Naznin Hira, Rashed Morshed, Sohana Nodi, Babul Ahmed, and Mithila Mou in supporting roles.

Cinematography and editing were handled by Suman Sheikh. Songs feature the voices of the late Andrew Kishore, Mita Mallick, Anamika, Mukti, Kali Sarkar, and Mitali Mallick, with music direction by Alamgir Hossain and lyrics/composition by Rafiqul Islam Khan.

Era has previously starred in 'Pure Jay Mon', 'Milon Setu', 'Begumjan', 'Tokai', and 'Moynar Shesh Kotha', with 'Ontore Acho Tumi' already censored. She is currently working on government-funded films 'Dena Pawna' and 'Bondhu Tui Amar', along with various dramas, advertisements, and music videos.
