Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has launched a new wave of missile attacks on Israel, marking the 20th round of strikes in the ongoing conflict. In this phase, Iran is using its advanced long-range ‘Khyber-Sheikh’ missiles, known for precision targeting.

The renewed missile barrage began early Sunday (June 22), as tensions escalate on the tenth day of hostilities.

According to Iranian media, the purpose of the attack remains unclear—whether it is in response to Israeli airstrikes or the recent US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.

In response, Israel has continued airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities, military sites, and civilian areas. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on social media that around 30 fighter jets struck multiple targets, including missile launch sites and over 50 warheads, in the Mahvaz region of southwestern Iran.

Explosions were reported in the cities of Ahvaz and Bandar-e Mahshahr in Khuzestan province, according to Iranian sources.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has accused the US of launching attacks under the guise of diplomacy, calling it a betrayal of peace efforts and warning of a forceful response.

The BBC described Iran’s latest missile strike as "the most serious attack" since the conflict began.

According to Al Jazeera report, Iran has intensified its operations, deploying more advanced weaponry to bolster its deterrence capabilities.
