Iran media publishes 'hit list' of 13 world leaders over Khamenei killing
An influential Iranian media outlet has published a 'target list' of 13 world leaders, including US President Donald Trump and several European heads of state, in retaliation for the killing of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The list was published hours after Iran's new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei vowed revenge.
According to an AFP report, the conservative Iranian newspaper Hamshahri published an infographic on Saturday night featuring photos of 13 foreign leaders. The list includes US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
Mojtaba Khamenei had earlier said in a statement that "revenge is the will of the entire nation and must be implemented."
It remains unclear whether the list was officially sanctioned by Iran's top decision-makers. The infographic appeared only online and was not included in the newspaper's print edition on Sunday.
Iran has accused European countries of allowing US forces full access to their territory and airspace during the recent war, making them complicit in Washington's actions.
