US President Donald Trump has said that Iran is not connected to the shooting incident at the White House Press’ Dinner event.

Addressing reporters, Trump confirmed that law enforcement agencies are probing the circumstances of the incident and stressed that the matter remains under active investigation.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said formal charges related to the attack will be filed shortly, underscoring the seriousness of the case.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel said investigators are currently analysing recovered weapons from the scene and interviewing eyewitnesses to establish a clear sequence of events.

Washington Metropolitan Police interim chief Jeffrey Carroll stated that the suspect was armed with multiple weapons but indicated there is no evidence of additional suspects at this stage.

However, Trump suggested that while the attacker may have acted alone, he believes “professional elements inside and outside” could have been involved.

He described the attacker as a “mentally disturbed individual” and said such threats must be dealt with firmly.

Authorities have not yet confirmed any broader conspiracy, and investigations by the FBI and Secret Service are ongoing.
