Iran has offered to help facilitate dialogue to resolve the ongoing tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, the Iranian foreign minister said, according to BBC reports.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi offered a mediation proposal in a post on social media platform X early Friday (February 27).

In his post, Araghchi expressed Tehran’s readiness to facilitate dialogue between the two countries, emphasising the importance of resolving differences based on good-neighborly principles.

He added that Iran would continue supporting the peace process and is prepared to provide any necessary assistance to promote constructive dialogue, mutual trust, and cooperation between Kabul and Islamabad.

Iran had previously expressed interest in mediating to ease Pakistan-Afghanistan border disputes amid rising tensions.
