Iran has presented a 14-point counterproposal to the United States aimed at ending the ongoing conflict that began with joint US-Israeli strikes on Iranian territory on February 28, according to Iranian media reports.

Semi-official Tasnim News Agency and state-run Press TV said the proposal was submitted in response to Washington’s earlier peace plan, outlining Tehran’s conditions for a permanent ceasefire.

A key demand in Iran’s proposal is a firm timeline for ending hostilities. While Washington had proposed a two-month ceasefire, Tehran has called for a permanent cessation of war within 30 days.

The proposal also seeks guarantees against future military action on Iran, withdrawal of US forces from areas near its borders, and the immediate lifting of naval blockades.

It further calls for the return of frozen Iranian assets held in international banks, compensation for war damages, and the removal of long-term economic sanctions.

Additional demands include ending the conflict in Lebanon and establishing new international regulations governing control of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy route.

According to Associated Press, US President Donald Trump has acknowledged receiving the proposal but expressed reservations. “They want a deal, but I’m not satisfied with what they’ve offered,” Trump told reporters at the White House.

The latest development comes after Washington previously submitted a 15-point proposal that included demands for Iran to fully halt its nuclear programme and reopen the Strait of Hormuz to global shipping.
