Iran has taken a firm decision not to participate in any peace talks while the US naval blockade on Iran remains in place. Under these circumstances, the country is not sending any delegation to the upcoming peace talks scheduled to be held in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. Iran's semi-official news agency Tasnim confirmed the information on Sunday, April 19.

Iran remains completely firm on its previous position, the report said. Tehran has made it clear that as long as the US naval blockade on Iranian ports continues, Iran will not engage in any kind of talks or diplomatic activities.

Meanwhile, a high-level US delegation led by Vice President JD Vance is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Monday. Although the US is promoting this meeting as a 'last chance' to resolve the Iran-US crisis, Tehran's firm decision has thrown the entire peace process into deep uncertainty.

According to political analysts, it is nearly impossible to create a conducive environment for talks while maintaining a unilateral blockade, which is reflected in Iran's decision.

In recent days, the Trump administration has not only imposed a blockade but has also threatened to seize Iranian ships in international waters and destroy the country's key power plants. In response to these threats, Iran has placed its military forces on the highest state of alert. Iran's military leadership has made it clear that its forces are ready for any situation with their 'fingers on the trigger'.

International observers believe that this hostile behaviour and military sabre-rattling by both sides ahead of peace talks is making the situation in the Middle East even more unstable.
