A drone attack targeted Kuwait International Airport on Wednesday (April 1), sparking a major fire and causing significant damage to infrastructure, authorities said.

Kuwait’s civil aviation authority confirmed the incident, stating that the strike hit a fuel storage facility within the airport premises, leading to a large blaze.

Emergency response teams were deployed to contain the fire.

Spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi said the attack was carried out by Iranian forces and allied armed groups. Despite the scale of the incident, no casualties have been reported so far.

The development comes amid escalating regional tensions following ongoing hostilities involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.

In recent weeks, Iran has expanded its retaliatory strikes, increasingly targeting key infrastructure and military-linked facilities across the Middle East.
